Claudio Raffaele

My work begins with a question, not with a tool. What remains when everything superfluous falls away? Where does the essential end and the dispensable begin?

In my practice, artificial intelligence is what the brush is to the painter – a means of realisation, not the origin of the idea. The technology generates possibilities. I curate, select, refine.

Every finished work passes through a process of deliberate reduction. Out of hundreds of variations, one emerges – the one that remains.

A sculptor strikes stone. A painter guides the brush. I work with algorithms – and the question of authorship answers itself: the tool does not make the artist.

Artificial intelligence knows no intention. It does not know what beauty is, what silence means, why a line must end here and not there. Those decisions are mine.

My work is not a collaboration with the machine. It is a monologue that passes through it.

Every work begins with a clear intention. The technology follows the vision, not the other way around.

Less is not merely more – it is everything. The search for the essential governs every act of creation.

Selection is the creative act. Artistic authorship lies in the deliberate decision for a single work.
